Kung Fu Basics

The Kung Fu Basics session begins with a warm-up to prepare the body for training and to prevent injuries or muscle strains. Light stretching follows, improving flexibility and ensuring that students are ready for the techniques ahead. The session focuses on learning the fundamental Shaolin kicks and basic stances, which are essential for balance, coordination, and strength. These foundational movements form the entrance to Shaolin Kung Fu, reflecting the daily practice of Shaolin monks and laying the groundwork for more advanced training.

Kung Fu Forms

Kung Fu Forms start with beginner forms like Wǔbù Quán (五步拳) and Liánhuán Quán (连环拳), which focus on basic movements. As students advance, they learn more complex forms such as Xiǎo Hóng Quán (小洪拳) and Qīxīng Quán (七星拳). Advanced students can discuss with the instructor to choose specific forms based on their skill level.

Kung Fu Weapons

Kung Fu Weapons training involves learning to use traditional weapons to enhance strength, coordination, and precision. Beginners typically start with basic weapons like the staff (棍, Gùn) and sword (剑, Jiàn). As students progress, they move on to more advanced weapons such as the spear (枪, Qiāng), broadsword (刀, Dāo), and more. Advanced students may choose to specialize in a particular weapon after discussing their interests with the instructor.

Meditation

Meditation helps students develop focus and inner calm. Through breathing techniques and mindfulness, they learn to clear the mind and stay present. This practice improves mental clarity, emotional balance, and stress management, enhancing focus in both training and daily life.

Qi Gong

Qigong is a practice that combines gentle movements, breath control, and meditation to cultivate and balance the body’s energy. Students learn to regulate their breath and movement to improve circulation and promote overall health. This practice enhances vitality, reduces stress, and increases focus, helping to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit for better physical and mental well-being.

Buddhist Class

Buddhist class offers students the opportunity to participate in Buddhist ceremonies held at the temple, alongside the monks. These ceremonies provide a deeper connection to Buddhist traditions and teachings, allowing students to experience the rituals firsthand. Through these practices, students gain insights into mindfulness, compassion, and the path to enlightenment, while fostering a sense of inner peace and spiritual growth.

Free Session/ Self-Practice

Free Session / Self-Training allows students the opportunity to practice and refine their skills independently. During this time, they can focus on techniques they’ve learned, ask questions, or work on personal goals with Master's help. It encourages self-discipline, self-reflection, and continuous improvement, helping students to take ownership of their progress and build confidence in their abilities.

Calligraphy

Calligraphy teaches students the art of writing with precision and mindfulness. Through the practice of brush strokes and character formation, they learn to express creativity and focus their mind. Calligraphy helps to improve concentration, patience, and attention to detail, while also providing a way to connect with traditional cultural practices and develop a deeper sense of inner peace.
